God-Given Rights
The right is one of the most underlying principles of the American Constitution. The Declaration of Independence proclaims that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. These unalienable rights are spelled out in detail in the Bill of Rights.
The Additional Right Given By Jesus
In addition to these God-given rights, every person who receives Jesus is given an additional right. The right to become a child of God. John tells us that this right also extends to those who believe in His name.
The End Result of Right Jesus Gives
The Lord speaks to us about the finality of this right in Revelation 22:14
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14, NASB95)
