Anger is a Natural Emotion
Anger is a natural emotion, but we should not let it control us and lead to sin. There are many things that trigger anger in people: the pain of failure, the difficulties in life, and even injustices we see done to others. These can all lead to frustrations and resentment which need to be redirected in order to honor God. Anger is a feeling we cannot ignore or run away from.
Uncontrolled Anger
Uncontrolled anger can have dire consequences. It can produce terrible consequences even murder. What is important is that we control our anger and direct it to God instead of to the object of our anger. God is the supreme authority in our lives. When we direct our anger to Him, He will forgive us.
Quick Tempered
The writer of Titus tells us that it is important that a person of authority in the church should not be quick tempered. . The word “quick” in the text, means, “to be rash or hasty or impetuous, or overexcited.” A person who has the right temper can control all the other things that anger can produce. “Quick temper” is itself a pathway to sin.
The Wrong Opportunity
Sudden outbursts of anger are the fruits of man’s sinful nature. In Ephesians 4:27, we find out that our anger can even give the devil an opportunity in our life. This is something no one wants to do..
Conclusion
Do keep your anger past the end of the day. Do remember that God is our supreme authority and He will forgive us if we direct our anger to Him instead of to the object of our anger.
